USSAAC is reaching out

USSAAC is trying to contact all current and former members of the organization in TX and LA to see how you are doing. Pass on information about the site to families with individuals who use AAC.

  • I am a SLP in Houston TX. I live in one of the most affected areas (Meyerland) but we did not flood. I run a ST practice and we specialize in AAC. I will pass on the info to patients. I am happy to help your cause in any way I can. Betsy Furler

  • Thanks so much Betsy! I am an SLP with an AAC background in College Station, TX, and it's great to have you even closer to the area of need and able to help. In the short term, here are two resources that might help your patients. One is a topic specific Harvey communication board and the other is a Social Story about Surviving Harvey for children with autism or frankly, any young children chat might feel anxious. These are both compliments of TobiiDynavox and are in pdf form or can be used immediately on an iPad or tablet. https://www.tobiidynavox.com/globalassets/downloads/special-events/communication-board-hurricane-harvey2.pdf
